Today, I'm still alive

2018

Receipt, ink

Variable size

I drew my daily events on the back of all the receipts I got from January to December 2018. The drawings are made upside down, so the drawings and letters are crazy in some places.
This work was exhibited in the solo exhibition "I'm still alive today" held at Shinjuku Ganka Gallery.

Winter, the house next door burned. Half of our backyard was gone.

Spring, I went to the housing complex I lived I was a little child for the first time in a long time.
It became a new residential area, and I saw a lot of new homes being built.
After that I moved from Chugoku region to north of Kanto region.
Summer, my mother and a house cat evacuated and my father worked as a volunteer fire department because of heavy rain.
Autumn, it passed a half year since I started to live in north of Kanto region. I don't accustomed with earthquake yet.
I always carry my smartphone even at home.

But winter is coming  again, I’ll do my best today too!
